UD SEPTEMBER LEAGUE SUMMARY

September league summary.jpeg

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of waking up the morning of game day. The anticipation, thrill and nervous energy filled the streets of London as thousands of excited children and parents made there way to Regents Park for the start of the 2021/2022 league season.

On September 11th the wait was over and the commencement of the Regent’s Park youth league began.

The month of September has been truly remarkable. The football often breathtaking, the goals incredible and the team spirit amongst the squads have never been better.

In total, we have played an incredible 31 fixtures. Winning 20, drawing 2 and losing just 9 games. Whilst we always prioritise development over results, it is always so pleasing to see our boys and girls win matches, whilst playing with a clear identity, showing sportsmanship and ultimately playing with a smile on their faces.

After digging through the stats, what is even more impressive is the whopping 106 goals scored. We witnessed an early goal of the season contender, Daniel Bowman stepping up, 30 yards out to strike the ball into the top corner- trademark Bowman free-kick.

The league campaign is always a highlight of the calendar year for us coaches and this year is no different. United Dragons FC now boast an incredible, record breaking 20 competitive teams vying for glory in their respective divisions.

We are delighted to welcome our new U7s teams, girls U9 White and girls U11 Blue teams to the Regent’s Park league, along with welcoming back all of our existing teams. We would also like to welcome our new U10 team who represent the famous blue Dragons jersey in the midweek Market Road League.

If September is anything to go by, this year promises goals, goals and more goals!

Our league teams are now almost full. We do have a few spaces left in certain age groups for anyone wishing to play competitive league football. If you are interested, please contact Chris at chris@uniteddragonsfc.com for further information.
