UD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (10-16 YRS) - MONTHLY HIGHLIGHTS

UD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (AGES 10-16)
UD GIRLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (AGES 10-16)

March 2024

In March, our UD Development players (ages 10-16) have shown significant progress in refining their skills and tactical understanding, particularly excelling in dribbling and passing, with a focus on creating and recognising patterns of play to bolster our attacking efforts.

Expanding on the themes outlined in our UD annual training syllabus, our older age groups have demonstrated exceptional comprehension and application of concepts introduced in previous terms. Throughout our UD Development training sessions, players have showcased enhanced proficiency in dribbling and passing, highlighting their ability to construct and identify patterns of play to strengthen our offensive strategies.

Furthermore, they have effectively implemented collective attacking tactics, displaying creativity and cohesion to unlock opposition defences and create scoring opportunities. This enables our players to anticipate and exploit spaces with precision and coordination. As UD coaches, we take great pride in the achievements of this group and eagerly anticipate the training topics and continued progress for the upcoming UD Summer Term.

We all can’t wait to see our players back in action in a few weeks time!

February 2024

As a round-up on the achievements made by our UD Development players this past month, they have achieved significant progress in refining their techniques and tactical know-how, particularly excelling in 'finishing' and 'defending with pressure' with a strong emphasis on compactness as a team.

Building upon the topics laid out in our UD annual training syllabus, our eldest age groups have shown exceptional retention of the concepts introduced from last term. Across all of our Development training sessions, players have demonstrated enhanced proficiency in finishing, showcasing their ability to convert scoring opportunities with precision and confidence.

Moreover, they have effectively implemented collective defending strategies, demonstrating pressure and compactness to restrict the opposition's space and limit their chances. This ultimately allows our players to recognise when to press and when to drop depending on the situation they see in front of them. As coaches, we are extremely proud of this group's success and look forward to the upcoming months training topics!!

January 2024
With our eldest age groups, it has been amazing to see that our players have retained the information given to them last term. In line with our UD annual training syllabus, we have focused on 1v1 dribbling; shielding and finding space on-field. We have also covered several passing skills including the importance of off-the-ball movement to create 'clear passing lanes' to progress the ball up-field. We have been so pleased with our Development players this month as well as their dedication to attend training regularly. The attendance of players in this programme does wonders to improve the group/team overall and we our coaches are excited to progress our topics in February!
