UD JAN 2022 LEAGUE UPDATE

On January 8th 2022, the Regent’s Park Youth League resumed and thousands of kids, parents, grandparents and dogs wrapped up warm and filled the sidelines to cheer on their team.

Many would have thought that the festive celebrations, mince pies and Christmas puddings would have caused a slow and rusty start to the new calendar year, however, this couldn’t be further than the truth.

In typical UD fashion, we came out of the blocks fast and the month of January has seen some of our best results of the season.

Our U13 girls remain now unbeaten in 5 games and are climbing up the table, whilst our U13 boys continue to brush aside any opponent and remain top of the league, also progressing to the next round of the cup in dramatic fashion.

Similar to the U13s, our U12s also won high octane penalty shoot out to advance to the next round of the cup. United Dragons demonstrating ice cool nerves!

Arguably our most successful week in Dragons history occurred on 15th January where we had a total of 11 fixtures and came away from that weekend unscathed, boasting an incredible 9 wins and two draws.

It is so pleasing to see that the hard work the boys and girls are putting into their training is really paying off during league games. The brand of football we are playing, coupled with the resilience, mental fortitude and sportsmanship is what separates UD from the rest.
