UD JAN 2O22 TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS

With 2022 up and underway, I speak on behalf of all our UDFC coaches to say a huge, 'welcome back and happy new year!'.

It has been so great for us to see you all back on the sidelines. Despite the few weeks off over the festive break, it seems pretty evident that both the kids and our coaches were keen to be back on the fields playing football this month!

Working through our UDFC syllabus, the month of January has seen us set a core focus on improving across the following areas:

1v1's (attackers and defenders- 'Speed, Strength, Skill, Smart')

2 v 2's (challenging the ball carrier to recognise when to pass and when to dribble)

Passing (working through the varied techniques of the four main passes)

Passing and Switching Play (Continuing our development with passing, our aim is for the players to know how to effectively work as a team to unlock potential opportunities to score)

Our UDFC coaches have been thoroughly impressed with the enormous progress seen across all of our weekly training sessions this month. With over 350+ UDFC players training each week, we remain cognisant that every player is on their own individual journey in this sport and it remains our priority to effectively differentiate every session to challenge and improve each child, regardless of their age/experience/skillset.

In our efforts to ensure we develop every player individually, our UDFC training syllabus has been instrumental in positively impacting the technical and tactical competency of all our UDFC players.

As we approach the month of February, our team of coaches remain as committed as ever in improving each of our players. I would encourage you all, if you haven't done so already, to check out the various additional training options we have available, both midweek and weekend. We have been so thrilled to see so many of our players playing multiple times per week across our sessions and would love to welcome more players to do the same.

We hope you have all enjoyed our return back to football and we look forward to seeing you all soon!
